March 31, 2002

I hope everyone had a great Easter Sunday! :D Mine was really peaceful -- I spent it home alone in my apartment (my roommates went home for the holiday). I was thinking about going to see my family in Southern CA but I just didn't have the money for a plane ticket and now that I'm out of college, I hate pestering my dad for money. It's okay though. I got the chance to watch old episodes of Dawson's Creek! Ah, the good old days. You know, watching the past seasons really made me miss Capeside. The show just isn't the same without Dawson's dock, the glistening water of the Creek and the gorgeous sunsets. ::sigh::

And just cause I thought this was an interesting topic, I decided to do Rae's Seven on Sunday:

My Top 7 TV Couples of All Time

1. Pacey and Joey (Dawson's Creek)

2. Buffy and Angel (BtVS)

3. Brenda and Dylan (BH 90210)

4. Chandler and Monica (Friends)

5. Sonny and Brenda (General Hospital)

6. Michael and Maria (Roswell)

7. Clark and Lana (Smallville)

Gawd, I just realized that I'm really boring -- there's nothing unconventional or surprising about the couples I chose. Oh well, I love them all just the same.

Lookee what I found! :) Dawson and Pacey Interactive Fanfic

See, I post at Fan Forum on the Dawson and Pacey thread (no, it's not a slashy thread - we support their *friendship*) of the Dawson's Creek board. And last summer (2001) when we reached our 10th anniversary thread, we wrote an interactive fanfic. lol. It was never completed though -- we got to the end of thread too quickly and our poor fic was forgotten. But fortunately, it was archived for all the world to enjoy. hee. I just read the part I wrote (the very beginning) -- gah! I just can't read my own work.

Time for the Friday Five!

If you could eat dinner with and "get to know" one famous person (living or dead), who would you choose? Janet Jackson or Julia Roberts

Has the death of a famous person ever had an effect on you? Who was it and how did you feel? The death of Princess Diana didn't affect me personally but it did make me *feel* -- and that emotion allowed me to feel connected to all those knew and loved her. I was also in shock regarding the circumstances of her death -- drunk drivers, crazy papparazzi. ::shakes head::

If you could BE a famous person for 24 hours, who would you choose? Kristin Kreuk or Katie Holmes - it would be cool to get to work with cute guys like Michael Rosenbaum and Josh Jackson. hee.

Do people ever tell you that you look like someone famous? Who? Nope.

Have you ever met anyone famous? I used to work at a news radio station so sometimes the radio personalities would have really cool guests -- I got to shake hands with former President Jimmy Carter, Andre Agassi and Dave Chapelle. Also, when I was 15, I was flying from LA to San Francisco and Alicia Silverstone was on my flight. I didn't go up to her though because she was surrounded by drooling guys the entire time.

I *loved* tonight's episode of Felicity, which is something I haven't been able to say in a long time. There were 3 scenes in particular that I enjoyed:

1. the Feli/Noel scene in the kitchen. Even though I wish there was something more between these two crazy kids, I love that they have a close friendship. They were so easygoing with each other. ::sigh::

2. the other Feli/Noel scene at the bar. When Feli was telling him about how awkward it was when Adam (an architecture student-Felicity helped him on his project) tried to kiss her, I loved when Noel said "Who could blame Adam?" Aww.

3. Sean and Meghan's last scene in bed. They were completely adorable when they apologized to each other -- and shoe covers! I love that idea. hee.

The only bad thing I have to say is -- Why was Elena onscreen for only half a second? It was the same way last week!

March 26, 2002

omfg - has anybody been watching The Osbournes on MTV? That show is HILARIOUS -- it's like non-stop laughter the entire half hour. I'm not at all familiar with Ozzy's music but he and his family are just so crazy and kooky and plain INSANE. They're a total riot -- always fighting and cussing. lol. But despite that, they just seem really... genuine and REAL. It's my new "must watch" show, which is great cause it seems every other show I follow regularly is showing reruns at the moment. Blah.

Also, I made the mistake of browsing around Amazon and before I knew it, I had ordered 4 DVDs! ::eek:: I ordered Ocean's Eleven, Friends Season 1, Buffy Season 2, and Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone. And I ALMOST bought Seasons 2 and 3 of Sex and the City but I figured I had already spent too much money. Gah - well, at least I got free shipping cause I purchased so much.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments on the new layout. You all brought a huge smile to my face. :D

Yay! I've finally finished the new layout -- it took me so long. *phew* This is version 3.0 of ever-lasting and it features Kristin Kreuk and Tom Welling better known as Lana Lang and Clark Kent in the awesome show Smallville. I'd love to know what you guys think -- so click on that scribble button and talk back! :)

I saw Michael Rosenbaum on The Best Damn Sports Show Period last night -- he was SO funny -- I think my crush on him has grown exponentially. lol. He was supposed to be promoting his new movie Sorority Boys but Tom Arnold kept asking him to do impressions - he did Christopher Walken and John Malkovich. He was dead on - freaking HILARIOUS.

And better late than never - my Friday Five.

What is your favorite time of year? I used to love summer because I always looked forward to the three months that I had a vacation from school. Now I no longer have that luxury. I guess I'd have to say winter.

What is it about your favorite season that, well, makes it your favorite season? The holidays - it's such a family-oriented time of year. Plus, I'm such a sucker for all the Christmas decorations. :P

What is your least favorite time of year? Why? Probably spring cause of all the rain. Blah.

Do you do anything to celebrate or recognize the changing of seasons? Umm, not really. The only thing is that when spring/summer rolls around, I'll dry clean all my sweaters and jackets so they'll be nice and clean when the cold weather arrives. lol.

What's your favorite thing to do outside? I'm not really much of an "outdoorsy" person but I really love having barbeques in the summer with friends. The warm weather, the smell of the grill and watermelons. Yum!

March 20, 2002

I'm so sad that Felicity is coming to an end - in many ways, it makes sense. The show started when the gang started college and now they've come full circle - but it always sucks to lose a good show. Anyway, tonight's episode sure was a shocker! *Stop reading here if you don't want to be spoiled.*

I just can't believe that Ben's going to be a father. ::shakes head:: That's crazy - just when he seemed to be on a real path - *boom!* - life hits him in the ass again. Geesh. And as much as I hate to admit it, Felicity and Ben really appear to have a mature, loving relationship - they look totally, completely in love. I'm a *huge* Felicity and Noel fan so it takes a lot for me to say that - at least I have my Season 1 memories of FAN. ::sigh:: FAN will live forever in my mind! lol.

::screams like a crazed teeny bopper:: I got my Britney Spears tickets! June 1st at the Oakland Arena! :P WOOHOO! They're on the right side of the stage but they're on the floor -- whee! Ok, that was just one too many exclamation points. Stopping now. I still have a huge grin on my face though. I'm a slaaave for you...

I watched "A Knight's Tale" last night - Heath Ledger and Shannyn Sossamon were really cute together but they sure couldn't save the movie. I got really bored cause the storyline was so darn predictable. ::yawn:: The jousting and tournament scenes were really cool, though, if not completely violent and cringe-worthy. ::shudders:: I *still* can't believe jousting was ever acceptable. The use of contemporary music was also a neat effect - too bad I found myself giggling when "We Will, We Will Rock You..." (yes, I'm pathetic. I don't know the actual name of the song) came on. Hee.

March 16, 2002

Well, I figure that it's never too late to do the Friday Five... so here goes.

What's your favorite animal? Dogs (little ones), specifically lhasa apsos. They're so adorable.

What pets have you had in your lifetime? I've only had one dog that my aunt gave me for my 9th birthday. It was a lhasa apso and I named him Tramp, after the dog in the Disney movie Lady and the Tramp. But I called him Wampy. I miss him. ::sniff::

Is there any specific pet that you've wanted but never had? Why? Nope. My dog was the only pet I ever wanted.

Are you allergic to any animals? I think I'm allergic to cats. In college, my roommate had a cat and occasionally, when it would sleep on my bed or cuddle with me, I would get really itchy. It didn't happen all the time though.

Do you have any 'pet' pet peeves (your pets or others')? I hate when pets leave bits and pieces of their food all over the place. Ugh.

Britney tickets go on sale this Sunday! Yay! :D Yes, I'm a fan - and no, I'm not ashamed. I'm going to get in line with all the 12-year old girls and buy my tickets - with PRIDE. I can't believe I'm so giddy. It's that damn teeny-bopper inside me.

I am now a huge Moulin Rouge fan. I just bought the DVD over the weekend and I finally got the chance to watch it today -- and I just fell in love with the movie. I saw it in the theatre last June but I didn't connect with the emotions the way I did today. ::sigh:: What a great movie -- I have the soundtrack on repeat now. :D How wonderful life is now you're in the world...

March 8, 2002

Another Friday, another Friday Five...

What makes you homesick? When I talk to my cousins or friends and they just go on and on about what I've missed -- I always feel so bad for not being there for all those moments, big or small.

Where is "home" for you? Is it where you are living now, or somewhere else? I live in the Bay Area (CA) right now -- I kind of just settled here after finishing college at UC Berkeley. But what I call "home home" is where my dad lives in sunny Southern California.

What makes it home for you? People? Things? A little bit of both. Going back to Southern CA is great cause it really *feels* like home when I'm with my family. At the same time, though, I get really sentimental looking at trinkets and things that remind me of home or a specific time in my life.

Where is the furthest you've been from home? 6979 miles -- that's the distance from here to the Philippines. Ive also been to Europe and other parts of Asia, but I *think* the Philippines is the farthest. ::shrugs::

What are your plans for this weekend? Nothing! I'm just going to enjoy the fact that I am no longer going to have a 6-day work week now that I've quit my part-time job at Abercrombie and Fitch.

Posted by Kel at 08:31 PM | Comments (3)

I was having a pretty "blah" day and then I get an email from Joy with a link to her bee-yoo-ti-ful new Katie Holmes wallpaper. Thanks for thinking of me. *hugs*

I have to get my hands on the Rollingstone magazine -- I saw one today at a newstand near my work but *of course,* I didn't have any money. Argh. Anyway, the entire article is at Rollingstone.com -- it's a fun read. It totally cemented my weird crush on Michael Rosenbaum. ::drool:: He's such a riot. I especially loved this:

"Don't you remember anything about the accident?" Rosenbaum asks Welling.

"I remember pulling you out," says Welling. "That's all."

"You sure you don't remember anything?" asks Rosenbaum. He pauses. He lifts an eyebrow. Finally displaying his own intuitive feel for the zeitgeist, he says, "My ass was sore afterward. You sure you didn't give me a superfuck?"

BWAH! Love it.

I'm feeling a bit better today -- thanks and huge *hugs* to everyone who wished me well. You guys are the best!

Just some site updates for today: Rollingstone magazine is featuring Kristin Kreuk, Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum, otherwise known as Lana, Clark and Lex from Smallville, in their latest issue, which should hit newstands this Friday. The pictures that are included with the article are *amazing.* They're all so cute together. :)

March 6, 2002

Blah -- I'm sick. :(

I had a slight fever yesterday so I spent pretty much the entire night in bed after I returned home from work. *sigh* Being sick sucks.

To make matters worse, *N Sync is here in concert tomorrow (well, technically today cause it's past midnight) and I'm not going. ::sobs:: The past 2 times they've come to Oakland, I'VE been there... I even flew to Las Vegas to see them during one of their arena tours. *I was die hard.* But now, I'm just broke. Argh.

BtVS was pretty good tonight... I loved all the angst and pained looks between Buffy and Spike. ::sigh:: They could have been great. And OMG, I feel so *horrible* for Anya -- weird though, cause I've never felt anything for her before. Sure, I liked her -- she's funny and candid but I always thought of her as more of a peripheral character. ::shrugs:: But still, she must be hurting.

March 4, 2002

So I went to see the new Josh Hartnett movie last Friday ("40 Days and 40 Nights") -- it was a lot better than I expected. It was pretty funny, if even a bit corny and a LOT raunchy. But whatever... it's Josh Hartnett baby! :D

On Saturday night, Rob and I rented "O," which I found to be a really amazing movie. Sure it's violent and disturbing and scary, but I think it says a lot about the power of manipulation and the control that jealousy has over people. Julia Stiles, Mekhi Phifer and Josh Hartnett (again!) were phenomenal in their roles -- JH especially. His character was a sharp contrast from the "nice guy" roles he's done in the past. It's not a movie that you'd want to see over and over again but it's definitely worth at least one viewing.

Friday means Friday Five time! :)

What's your favorite vacation spot? I really love Hawaii... the lifestyle is laid back, the scenery is damn gorgeous, the people are friendly, and the weather is warm. Can't beat that.

Where do you consider to be the biggest hell-hole on earth? Umm... when you're driving between Southern CA and Northern CA, there's a stretch of land that's just littered with cows- all of them awaiting their torture (I guess- I just made that up). Anyway, the stench is truly disgusting.

What would be your dream vacation? Traveling for months all around Europe would be a dream. After my high school graduation, I went with my family on a month long tour of the major cities in Europe- London, Paris, Rome, Amsterdam... but I want to see it *all.* I'd love to see the less popular locales (but definitely just as rich in beauty and history) like Austria, Germany, Spain and Greece.

If you could go on a road-trip with anyone, who would it be and why? I'd love to go with my long-time friends (since grade school!) Carmen and Robyn. They're the two people that I feel like I've been a horrible friend to... I'm just bad at keeping in touch in general. We all went to different schools for college and I let the distance get between us. *sigh* Plus, I just saw the Britney Spears movie "Crossroads," which is about 3 girls who rekindled their friendship after drifting apart in high school so I'm a bit on the nostalgic side right now... if you either of you are reading this, I miss you! ::muah::

What are your plans for this weekend? Rob said he would take me to see "40 Days and 40 Nights." :D Josh Hartnett, baby! Other than that, probably cleaning my apartment. Wow, the action in my life is NON STOP. ::note the sarcasm::
