March 31, 2005 I am still in shock about Jessica being voted off American Idol. I didn't see that coming at all. She was ROBBED. America, you are killing me! And then Meg leaving with Chris on the season finale of American Dreams?!? What was she thinking? What does she see in Chris? I never found his character to be the least bit likable. I so wanted to slap some sense into her... except that I was in near tears while she was shooting the commercial for Jack (so bittersweet in hindsight) and saying farewell to Rox. *sniff* I will be so upset (SO UPSET) if this episode turns out to be the series finale. Don't let me down, NBC. So then I'm watching CSI tonight and what do I see? A commercial for that TV movie about Elvis Presley starring none other than Jonathan Rhys-Meyers!!! SQUEE. He looks gooooood. Oh yes, he does. See here. *sigh* I'm counting down the days until May 8. Posted by Kel at 10:50 PM | Comments (6) March 29, 2005 I can't believe it's only 10pm (which is normally pretty early for me) and I am *so* sleepy. UGH. Waking up at 6am is really doing a number on my schedule. Quick American Idol thoughts... LOVED Vonzell. She didn't really grab me in previous weeks but she is slowly but surely becoming a favorite. Plus, I just love her personality. She's always smiling and giggly but she doesn't seem fake at all. Aww. Also loved Nikko. I can't believe how much he sounded like Tevin Campbell. I'm so happy he got the chance to come back -- he's been rocking lately. Let's see if I can predict the results correctly again this week... my picks for the bottom three are Anthony, Scott and Nadia with Scott saying farewell. PS - Many thanks to everyone for the Congrats! All the kind words mean a lot. :) Posted by Kel at 10:02 PM | Comments (0) March 27, 2005 I just got a promotion! Complete with a nice little salary bump. SCORE. This and the fact that Rob just accepted a great new job offer of his own makes me a very happy camper. Too bad I now have to start work at 7:30am. *dies* I thought 8:00 was bad enough. I don't know how the heck I'm going to drag myself out of bed an extra half hour earlier. Anyway, I checked out that new ABC show, Grey's Anatomy, tonight. It was a little predictable for a medical drama but I liked that it came from the point of view of female interns. I love the sarcastic Christina (Sandra Oh) and insecure Isobel (Katherine Heigl) already. (Hee, I totally laughed when KH introduced herself as Isobel or "Izzy" -- Roswell shout-out or coincidence?) How long the show will last is anyone's guess but it was at least entertaining. I'll take it over Boston Legal, that's for sure. ABC has really been kicking butt with the new shows this season. Posted by Kel at 11:08 PM | Comments (8) March 24, 2005 I totally called the results on American Idol!!! MWAHAHAHA. The O.C. has officially been renewed for a third season! YAY! I also came across this great cast interview/panel hosted by The Academy Television Arts & Scienes called The O.C. Revealed. It's pretty long (about an hour) and the interviewer asked some really random questions but it was fun to see the actors and producers interact and speak about their characters and the storylines. Two things that I remember in particular -- Josh Schwartz commented on wanting to keep Alex around (Olivia Wilde) but she had some offers and they weren't ready to make her a series regular. Huh. I liked Alex but I can't even imagine how the dynamic would have changed between the teens if she had stayed on. Also, Peter Gallagher mentioned that there was more response to the Sandy/Kirsten/Rebecca storyline than the kiss between Alex and Marissa. I'm not surprised. I think fans really love Sandy/Kirsten's marriage. Anyway, check it out if you have time. Now for some American Dreams comments... I am incredibly jealous of this girl who won the grand prize in the Godiva Valentine's Day promotion. She received 52 boxes of Godiva chocolates and 52 pairs of Manolo Blahnik shoes. Can you imagine all the gorgeous shoes AND the year's supply of chocolate-covered strawberries? *dies* Posted by Kel at 10:00 PM | Comments (1) March 22, 2005 Spoilery 24 and American Idol comments ahead... 24 As for the rest of the episode, it wasn't up to snuff with the beginning of the season. The storylines are getting a little cheesy and unbelievable. Weellll, *more* unbelievable than normal. I mean, Jack acting as Dina's hostage to draw out Marwan? Totally was not going to work. Come on, Jack! And CTU drawing back when Jack and Dina went into the tunnel? Very stupid move. The tunnel switcheroo is so the oldest trick in the book. Come on, CTU! I expect smarter twists from you. Tony and Michelle were giving each other googly eyes the entire episode. It's just a matter of time before those two crazy kids get back together. I can feel it. So as one relationship looks to be warming up again, another is slowly circling down the drain. I don't see Audrey and Jack surviving the day, what with Paul in surgery and facing possible paralysis. Eeek. Poor Jack, he hasn't had much luck with the ladies these past few seasons. And yay for the return of Chloe! She's so awesome. American Idol Posted by Kel at 10:16 PM | Comments (3) March 21, 2005 I spent my entire weekend watching all (I know, I'm a total couch potato) of The O.C. season 1. Man, I *loved* last season... the disastrous trip to Tijuana, Ryan and Marissa's first kiss on the ferris wheel, Seth juggling Anna and Summer at Thanksgiving, Julie and Luke's affair... plus there was an abundance of broody Ryan (with the famous gray hoodie, of course). This season just isn't the same. I can't pinpoint whether it's the new characters (the only one I actually liked was Zach but I wouldn't mind if Alex stuck around) or the storylines that came out of left field (Sandy and Rebecca, Lindsay and the question of her paternity, Marissa and Alex). The poor ratings are definitely an indication that something is "off" -- whatever it is, I hope the writers can get the show back on track. Totally random Jack and Bobby comment -- it seems that we've seen the last of both Bradley Cooper (Tom) and Mike Erwin's (Nate) characters (sadly I've pretty much only been watching for them at this point). I definitely understand Tom leaving the show (with him and Grace broken up, he basically has no storyline) but Nate too?! AND the writers had to turn him into a complete jerk! It's too bad -- I really liked him and Courtney together. And just a head's up for anyone else who is obsessed with TV shows on DVD -- 24 season 3 and One Tree Hill season 1 are 39.99 this week at Target. I picked up OTH yesterday. Can't wait to have another marathon... I finally got around to watching First Daughter (which I rented awhile back and kept forgetting about). After all the horrible reviews I read about it last year, I was pleasantly surprised. Probably because my expectations were so low. Marc Blucas's acting was better than I remember from his role on BtVS but Katie Holmes really surprised me -- she looked totally stiff. There were even a few scenes where she looked bored. Like she didn't want to be there or something. Cute movie despite that. Site updates: Linda gave me her Everwood season 1 fanlisting so I've made a new layout and moved it over here. Please join! I also put up a new layout at Divided They Fall, my Ryan/Seth fanlisting. YAY. Posted by Kel at 10:55 PM | Comments (1) March 16, 2005 Some TV thoughts (and spoilers, of course)... American Idol Alias American Dreams Not sure why but I went and bought myself another domain -- let me introduce Sour-Lemon.org. I thought it might be a good idea to have some space elsewhere just in case my current server decides to explode. Plus, it was a good deal! I have no idea what I'm going to do it with it yet, though. lol. Posted by Kel at 08:48 PM | Comments (4) March 13, 2005 So I got a voicemail message last night at 3am from my best friends telling me that they were at some deli in Hollywood and had just seen Adam Brody, Ben McKenzie and Rachel Bilson. (!!!) OMG. I. AM. SO. JEALOUS. I have to call you two back to get more details. SQUEE. I'm participating in the 50 Book Challenge and I figured I am overdue for an update and reviews... January February I just picked up The Secret Life of Bees this weekend which I can't wait to start... The Sunday Brunch Hope everyone has a great week ahead! Posted by Kel at 09:23 PM | Comments (4) March 9, 2005 Star Wars: Episode III preview on during The O.C. tomorrow night! YAY!!! Some spoilers below for Idol, Alias, and Top Model... So I guess I was completely off the mark on predicting which guys would be voted off on American Idol. I was shocked... and a little disappointed because I really liked both Nikko and Travis (he wasn't a great singer but he had a great smile :P). The girls were pretty obvious choices in my mind so I wasn't surprised in the least. All in all, a pretty stellar top 12. I really enjoyed Alias tonight -- especially the nod to Page 47, when Syd stole page 47 while she, Will and Jack were having dinner with Sloane and Emily. Ahhh, the memories. I love little callbacks like that. It was also good to see Dixon FINALLY doing something (anything!). The poor character has practically been an extra for the past few seasons. I want him to go on more missions with Syd! They were awesome partners. I'm also really glad there finally seems to be some set-up for an over-arching plot (Jack and Sloane -- the power couple!). This season's been missing that -- like, a link that connects all the episodes together, you know? Stand-alone episodes are great but I love having something to look forward to week after week. Also remembered to catch America's Next Top Model tonight. I'm so, so disappointed that Brita was voted off. She was the most gorgeous girl there! I bet it had nothing to do with her photo and everything to do with her age and weight. And they kept Brandy! And her bad attitude! UGH. Posted by Kel at 11:23 PM | Comments (2) March 8, 2005 My Girl Scout cookie order finally came today. Mmmm, they are so heavenly. I got home from work, started watching TV, and proceeded to eat almost an entire sleeve of Thin Mints. Good grief. I need to practice some self-control. The girls' performances on American Idol were pretty disappointing tonight (I thought the guys were *much* better last night). I only liked half of the girls (Nadia, Jessica, Carrie and Vonzell) -- the rest were very mediocre performances. Since I made a few guesses on who's going to get voted off on the guys side, I'll pick a few from the girls. Let's see -- my money's on Amanda, Janay or Lindsay. They're definitely the bottom 3 for me, anyway. Did you all see the new Harry Potter cover? Just a few more months away! Posted by Kel at 10:28 PM | Comments (4) March 7, 2005 Mmm. GREAT TV on FOX tonight. First. Michelle is back on 24. SQUEE. The look on Tony's face as he saw her walking into CTU? Priceless. They're so my OTP. Second. All the guys on American Idol were so much better than I expected (I've only seen the girls perform so far this season). I loved Anwar's performance especially. He rocked that song. I'm pretty horrible at predicting these things but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that either Scott, Anthony or Constantine will not advance to the top 12 on Wednesday. Posted by Kel at 10:23 PM | Comments (0) March 6, 2005 I can't believe NBC moved American Dreams to Wednesdays at 8pm (extra special thanks to Barry for letting me know about it). WEDNESDAYS! The day when I watch 4 (FOUR!) shows -- Lost, Alias, Smallville, American Idol. Sometimes I'll even watch Jack and Bobby on Wednesdays but luckily the WB reruns the show on Sundays (phew!). I guess I'm going to have to set both the Tivo and the VCR if I'm going to keep up with my Wednesday shows. ANYWAY. Is NBC trying to KILL the show?! It's barely getting any viewers on Sundays when it's against Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, how do they expect it to perform any better when it's against Lost and American Idol?! I'm so upset. It's such an amazing show and it seems like it may not get another season. I'm crossing my fingers for more Sam/Meg scenes! In site news, Alie and I have decided to close the Everwood Network. :( We both just got too busy with other projects (not to mention real life stuff) and had to let something go. And now for a meme stolen from Amanda... The Redundant Basics Home Sweet Home

I. Whats your favorite meal? Pasta -- I looove ravioli, fettucine alfredo, mac and cheese...
Posted by Kel at 08:03 PM | Comments (3) March 3, 2005 I am officially addicted to America's Next Top Model. Last weekend I happened to come across a marathon of season 3 on VH1 and I pretty much spent my entire Saturday watching all the episodes, hee. Come on, fashion and pretty people? I just couldn't resist. Plus, when Tyra says "Congratulations, you're still in the running to becoming America's Next Top Model" during the eliminations, it makes me laugh and roll my eyes. Cause she says it to EVERY. SINGLE. GIRL. Every week. I was a little disappointed at the winner, though. I mean, Eva? Maybe it's just me but I wasn't impressed by her at all. I was rooting for Ann to win -- she was absolutely gorgeous but she just couldn't get it together in front of the camera. Not to mention her bad attitude. I also started watching American Idol again this week. Well, I watched the girls and the results show so I have no idea how good (or more likely, how bad) the guys are. I was pretty underwhelmed by the girls. I can't pinpoint a single contestant that really captured me. Maybe it was a bad night? And what in the world is Constantine doing in the top 24?! Is he really that good? I saw him in the season premiere and never imagined that he would get this far. I miss AI season 1. Posted by Kel at 09:30 PM | Comments (3) March 2, 2005 It seems that I spoke too soon... I can't get my entries to justify (grr!) and for some reason, the date stamp on the 2 entries I have here are the same (???). Anyone have any ideas about what I'm doing wrong? *sigh* EDIT -- I'm an idiot. I set the date to be the current date and not the entry date. *head desk* And OMG, many many thanks to Lola for helping me figure out how to get my entries to justify. You rock!!! All is well in the land of e-l.net. Posted by Kel at 12:11 AM | Comments (5) March 1, 2005 I'M BACK!!! So I *think* I finally have everything in order around here -- if you see a broken link or unfinished template, please let me know! I've been MIA because some crazy person hacked into my Greymatter installation and uploaded tons of anime videos. $#@%!!! Because of that, I had to change my blogging software to Movable Type. I was actually dreading the change but now I'm an MT convert. geek> The one thing I still have to do is import my 460 entries from Greymatter to MT. OMG. I contemplated starting fresh but I just CAN'T. LET. GO. I've been blogging since 2002 and I don't want to lose a single TV-obsessed entry, hee. Posted by Kel at 10:33 PM | Comments (1) YES!!! I got Movable Type installed! Now I just need to figure out how to customize the templates... *wibble* Posted by Kel at 12:07 AM | Comments (0) |
