1. WTF?!? There are so many things wrong with this outfit. First of all, the skirt? It's falling off. Then it looks like Britney can't be bothered to wear the camisole properly. It's all bunched up on one side and her breast isn't even in the proper part of the top. Gah. But the worst is that she's BAREFOOT. Blech.
2. EEEK. It's like she got dressed in the dark.
3. Just... no. I actually think Britney looks great -- nice, shiny hair, natural-looking makeup, great body. It's just the whole dominatrix outfit that doesn't work for me. Too over the top.
4. My eyes!!! You'd think she couldn't afford a mirror or something. The skull cap and acid-washed jeans (with studs!) are just so awful. I do love her smile in this picture, though. She was so cute pre-Federline.
5. UGH. You can see her bra! Not attractive. Plus, the top doesn't go well with those plaid pants at all. Normally, I'd think those pants are cute... but with something minimal on top. And that lacy atrocity is anything but minimal.
Sadly, this is just a drop in the bucket... I could have gone on and on and on... heh.

Top 5 answers coming tomorrow. :D Thanks to everyone for the suggestions! Keep 'em coming!

And becuase I really haven't been able to think about anything else... some comments on the now infamous JK Rowling interview as well as Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince itself (in list form, of course)...

So... the interview. I guess you can say I'm a *little* (ok, a lot) disappointed in JK Rowling. I don't think I should have to re-read the books just because I'm a Harry/Hermione shipper. I acknowledge there are many obvious hints of a potential Ron/Hermione relationship but it was H/Hr that grabbed me and made me fall in love and I don't understand how that's wrong (or delusional). Books mean different things to the readers because our lives and experiences color our interpretation -- and I just happened to find meaning in the little details rather than taking the text at face value.

Anyway.

Brief comments on the actual book (which I absolutely LOVED and could NOT put down, despite the ships)...

1. It was totally jarring not to start the book with Harry's point of view. Not sure that I liked that at all. But maybe that was JKR's intent? To kind of throw the reader off balance right at the start?

2. Dumbledore's death made my heart ache. He's grounded the books for me (him being the wise old wizard and such) and now that he's gone, it's like all bets are off. And the way he died? Gave me chills. Which brings me to...

3. Snape. He's evil. Or at least I want him to be, if only because he's treated poor Harry like crap since he first arrived at Hogwarts. AND he killed Dumbledore! Come on now. Plus, part of me wants to see what Alan Rickman can do with the role, lol.

4. Horcruxes. Loved how these gave us the opportunity to find out more about Riddle's background. I know he's the villain but Voldemort intrigues me.

5. BWAH at Luna's Quidditch commentary! More Luna! And Neville! I thought that we would be treated to more Neville in this book (especially after OotP). His reduced part was a bit of a letdown. But was it just me or did it seem like there weren't too many characters involved in the story in HBP? I'm currently rereading OotP and it's like every imaginable character is in it. I suppose that's because of the OotP and DA meetings. Nothing significant, just something I noticed.

6. The ships. I'm not surprised at all that R/H happened (doesn't make me happy about it, though -- at least I'll always have H/Hr in fanfic!) but Harry/Ginny was unexpected. I had a feeling R/H would be canon so I didn't think anything AT ALL would become of H/G. It's just too convenient, you know? I did end up enjoying them anyway. In the end all I want is for Harry to be happy... (As an aside, I was just thinking of the movie that will most likely be made for HBP and does anyone else think the producers/director may possibly recast the part of Ginny? Bonnie Wright is cute but she didn't exactly impress me in CoS.)

7. Trio Love at the end. SO GREAT. This is *THE* relationship of the books me for me (OT3, hee!) and it made me so happy to know that while Harry has a huge undertaking ahead of him, he has his best friends by his side. HRH4eva!!!11! But no Hogwarts in Book 7?! Wow.

Before I forget, just wanted to do a quick Hawaii post...

Hawaii was amazing. I've visited many times now and each time I love it more and more. For me, there really isn't a more perfect vacation spot.

Aww man, I miss Hawaii. My first day back at work was *harsh.* I had 250+ emails to wade through and all I could think about was getting some more sun on the beach. Guh.

Anyway. Enough wallowing.

I finally got my Harry Potter book on Saturday afternoon (stinking black-out!!!). And finished it Sunday night. Thoughts to come...

I AM SO UPSET.

So right before I head over to Borders to pick up my Harry Potter book, Rob and I notice that there's a black-out on the other side of our block... the side where the Borders just happens to be.

But I walk across the street anyway. Just in case, you know. And OF COURSE, it's closed. %$#@! Why couldn't they have some kind of emergency generator in the store for situations JUST LIKE THIS?!? I want my book!

I wore my Gryffindor shirt and everything. Humph.

So I finished off Veronica Mars yesterday. It's amazing how quickly I went through the episodes. I seriously couldn't stop until I was done with the entire season, lol. It's not so much the "mysteries/cases" that reeled me in -- it's the characters. They're the real draw. I started to care about what happened to them (well, that's not really true for Lianne or Celeste, heh). Now I can't wait for season 2 (and finding out who's at Veronica's door)! And of course the DVDs come out on my birthday. What perfect timing.

Well, I'm off to finish packing. Our flight leaves at 9am so we have to wake up really early (5:30AM!!!) to be ready when the airport shuttle arrives. I'll be back in a week -- Aloha!!! :)

Thanks for all the support with the driving, everyone! All the kind words mean A LOT. Reading everyone's comments have made me more psyched to learn... I even convinced Rob to take me out tomorrow morning to practice -- let's cross our fingers that it goes well.

Rob and I have been having a Veronica Mars marathon. We spent Saturday night watching episodes 2-11... we got so into it that we stayed up until 4am! I don't have many comments really -- mostly because I know what's coming (that's what I get for always clicking on spoiler links and episode commentaries, lol). I do have to say, though, that I LOVE Weevil. He makes me smile, like really wide. Awww. He's probably my favorite character, with Wallace and/or Duncan coming in second. My favorite episode so far has been An Echolls Family Christmas... I guess I'm a sucker for group episodes. Plus, seeing all the guys together playing poker (and Duncan/Logan had the same boxers, hee) made me swoon. VM has such an attractive cast. Anyway, off to watch more episodes...
