September 29, 2005 It's like the third week of the fall TV season and I'm ALREADY BEHIND. 2 of episodes of Gilmore Girls and 1 episode of The OC are sitting on the Tivo... EEK. I have some serious catching up to do this weekend. :) Possible spoilers below... America's Next Top Model Supernatural 1.03 Lost 1.02, Adrift Veronica Mars Sophia Bush and Chad Michael Murray are now separated. They've only been married since April! That's awful. :( But I can't help but wonder what this means for their characters on One Tree Hill. EEEK. Posted by Kel at 05:11 PM | Comments (4) September 25, 2005 I turned down the job offer. It was a great opportunity but I realized that I wouldn't be as happy. It sounds a little silly but right now, I'm young and that's really important to me. I was hesitant about the job from the very beginning so I'm positive that I made the right decision. (I really need to learn to listen to my instinct rather than waiting until the last minute). Thanks to all of you for your support! :) While watching the Desperate Housewives season premiere, all I could think about was... Mehcad Brooks is HOT. But I don't know about his storyline. It's... um, weird? To say the least. "I know she's a bitch. But she's family. That makes her our bitch." -- Best quote of the episode. From Andrew no less. Also caught the Grey's Anatomy premiere. I think I've flipped my loyalties. I used to love Cristina and feel indifferent to Meredith but now... I'm not sure. Meredith kicked ass by standing her ground with Dr. McDreamy (heh) and Cristina disappointed me with the way she treated Dr. Burke. Especially by not telling him that she's pregnant. I still don't like Alex. But I can see an Izzie/Alex relationship on the horizon. Damn it. "You nasty. That's why you got syphilis." -- Best quote of the NIGHT. Courtesy of Dr. Bailey. She's so awesome. So... the CSI premiere. I was a little underwhelmed by the cases and a little overwhelmed by Warrick's news. WHAT. THE. HELL. I still can't believe Warrick's MARRIED. Just when I was warming up to the idea of Catherine/Warrick. This better not be a plot device to somehow bring them together because I can't get behind that. Gawd, this show really knows how to kill 'ships. Anyway, I did love the continuity from last season's finale. I felt so horrible for Nick when he saw the bug -- I wanted to give him a hug! And the Grissom/Archie scene when they realized that Walter Gordon had an accomplice gave me chills. I've always thought the show should have more storylines that span a number of episodes. And this'll be a great one since all the CSI's are so invested in it. Posted by Kel at 11:52 PM | Comments (3) September 22, 2005 Does anyone remember when I was stressing out over submitting my resume for a new job? Well... I was formally offered the job this past Monday. I'm supposed to have an answer for the agency by tomorrow morning (!!!) and I haven't made a decision yet. EEEK. So typical of me to PROCRASTINATE on something so important. What makes it hard is that they actually managed to match my current salary (something I didn't think they would do). GAH. It's a great opportunity but it would definitely mean long work days and a much longer commute. Plus, the agency is TINY. I'm talking a 5 person team here in the San Francisco office. I don't know if I could adjust to that type of work environment. I really don't know. I hate making decisions... I need to do some online shopping or something. You know... to clear my head. Hee. :D Posted by Kel at 10:09 PM | Comments (4) September 20, 2005 Ahhh, premiere week. I think I love you. Some comments on the Monday shows... Kitchen Confidential Las Vegas So the Emmys were pretty bad, huh? Each year I look forward to it and each year I'm disappointed. My commentary from the other night's show... Wow, the opening number SUCKED. So boring. The Black Eyed Peas and Earth Wind & Fire seemed lifeless. Marcia Cross looked beautiful in her green dress. Such a great contrast to her red hair. Love her. But I'm beginning to hate all the Desperate Housewives jokes. It's getting old. Emmy Idol?!? I can't believe Donald Trump is singing on national television. Lauren Graham is freaking gorgeous. AWW. Kristen Bell. Her voice is TOO CUTE. But her Fame performance was way cheesy. And kinda embarassing. Does Gary Dourdan really sing? Huh. Whatever. I love him anyway. Jonathan Rhys-Meyers was nominated -- how did I not know that? Wow, he looks amazing. YUM. It's kinda sad how I'm not even interested in the show or the awards anymore. I'm all about the eye candy now. William Shatner singing the theme to Star Trek. WHY?!? I love Conan. I started to tune out and he reeled me back in. Felicity Huffman!!! I was really hoping it would be her or Marcia Cross. I'm so happy for her! James Spader and Everybody Loves Raymond AGAIN?!? I don't understand. Yay for Lost! I didn't really have favorites for any of the categories this year but I was hoping Lost would win for Best Drama just so I could see the pretty, pretty cast on stage. Awww. Posted by Kel at 09:52 PM | Comments (4) September 18, 2005 I woke up this morning to find out that the Death Cab for Cutie concert on 11/13 is sold out. WTF. The tickets went on sale at 10am and I logged on to Ticketmaster at 11:30. This sucks. I was looking forward to it -- I haven't been to a concert since Justin Timberlake and Matchbox 20 in 2003 (!!!). *sigh* Oh well, at least there are other things to be happy about, like... The new Harry Potter trailers!!! They are here and here. The Yule Ball and Triwizard Tournament scenes just make me incredibly happy. And I can't help but fall in love with Viktor/Hermione. I adore the way he kisses her hand and twirls her around at the Yule Ball. SOCUTE. And seeing Harry all stutter-y and nervous as he's talking to Cho Chang... SQUEE. I am SO. EXCITED. The audio section of the official RENT site has been updated with clips of the entire soundtrack. YAY. I've been anxious to hear some of Rosario Dawson's solos and I'm pleasantly surprised. Listening to the clips makes me want to pre-order the soundtrack. November's going to be a great month for movies. :) In TV news, I watched the series premiere of Everybody Hates Chris. There was a preview DVD in last week's issue of Entertainment Weekly so I thought I would check it out. It is freaking HILARIOUS. The father is already my favorite character (he has the BEST lines) and the kid that plays Chris is a total natural. I hope the show does well -- I would love to have a sitcom on my TV schedule again. Anyway, it premieres this coming Thursday so check it out! I spent most of my Saturday watching my Popular season 1 DVDs. I think I watched maybe 2 episodes when the show was originally airing and I didn't really care for it. But I got the DVDs as part of a free promotion almost a year ago so I thought it was time to finally take them out of the packaging. I popped the first disc into the DVD player and ended up watching 9 episodes... straight. It is *much* better than I remember. It's funny, though, while I like the show, I don't really love any of the characters. Well, maybe Harrison -- he's awesome. The girls are just so difficult to empathize with. Especially Sam (Carly Pope). I want to be on her side but then she does something so petty, I just want to smack her. She drives me crazy. Nicole (Tammy Lynn Michaels) and Mary Cherry (Leslie Grossman) are so awesomely bad, though. I can't stand them but I can't help but laugh at their antics. I read that the second season was a huge disappointment compared to season 1 (something about network involvement -- stupid WB!). It's such a great, campy show... it's too bad. Anyway, I'm excited for the Emmys tonight. I want to see Kristen Bell perform! Aww. :) Forgot to mention that I added a few new wallpapers to Sour-Lemon.org last weekend. I finished those wallpapers *months* ago and recently found them on my hard drive. I really wish I had the motivation to make fanart. I haven't made anything in ages. I miss it. Posted by Kel at 02:42 PM | Comments (5) September 13, 2005 Yay, it was a WB premiere night! :) Gilmore Girls and Supernatural thoughts over here (beware spoilers)... Gilmore Girls Anyway, Luke said yes!!! YAY for Luke/Lorelai! If it weren't for them, I think I might have been a little bored with the premiere. :( Rory is completely getting on my nerves (OMGSHEISSOSPOILED), Logan had nothing exciting to do, and there was absolutely no Lane. Oh well. The previews for the next episode have me intrigued, though. I've been waiting for some Lorelai/Rory conflict! Supernatural And maybe it's just me but I really think the WB should have aired Supernatural after Smallville and paired Gilmore Girls with Everwood. Doesn't that make more sense? Posted by Kel at 11:34 PM | Comments (3) September 11, 2005 So... TV. The O.C. Reunion Once I was over that, I realized that this is a really bad show. Really interesting concept (I do love a good mystery) but horrible execution. The cheesy dialogue didn't help. Or the unsympathetic characters. I especially disliked Aaron and Craig. Didn't care for any of the girls (Amanda Righetti on ANOTHER FOX show -- they really seem to love her). Only liked Will because it was Will Estes. You know, the residual American Dreams love and all. I'll probably watch a few more episodes... until CSI and Everwood start. It's in a tough time slot so let's see if it survives. Though I doubt it. Anyway, after seeing Will Estes, I was feeling nostalgic for American Dreams so I popped in my DVDs this weekend. I watched/listened to the commentaries on the pilot and the finale and I think I adore the cast even more than I did before. They all resemble their characters in some way, they're all good friends, and they all absolutely love their show. Awww. On the pilot commentary with Brittany Snow (Meg) and Vanessa Lengies (Roxanne), they would quote the dialogue verbatim, even poking fun at themselves that they had watched the pilot numerous times. They were also fawning over the scene where JJ blows a kiss to Beth who is watching his football practice from the sidelines. OMGSOCUTE! I love those two. *sniff* I SO miss this show. I really need to do a Book Update soon. Too bad I'm not even close to 50 books. Not even at HALF yet. How embarrassing. Posted by Kel at 09:16 PM | Comments (2) September 8, 2005 Oh crap. I forgot Veronica Mars on my fall TV schedule below. !!! I have no idea how that happened. Okay, so VM is on Wednesdays at 9:00 and premieres 9/28. Got it. I even placed it at the very top of my Tivo's season pass list so that unless the Tivo dies, it will always get recorded. Many thanks to Mazzie for catching that error. Crisis averted. Phew. Posted by Kel at 06:34 PM | Comments (2) September 7, 2005 My fall TV schedule kinda sucks. It's so heavily weighted on Thursdays. I guess the Tivo and VCR are going to get lots of exercise this year... Sunday 10:00: Grey's Anatomy (premieres 9/25) I was going to put The West Wing on the schedule but I haven't seen the last season and a half so it'll probably be difficult for me to figure out what's what. I follow TWW much better on DVD anyway. Monday 09:00: Prison Break Tuesday 08:00: America's Next Top Model 09:00: Supernatural (premieres 9/13) Wednesday 08:00: The Apprentice: Martha Stewart (premieres 9/21) 09:00: Lost (premieres 9/21) Thursday 08:00: Alias (premieres 9/29) 08:00: Smallville (premieres 9/29) 08:00: The O.C. (premieres 9/8) 08:00: Everybody Hates Chris (premieres 9/22) 09:00: CSI (premieres 9/22) 09:00: Everwood (premieres 9/29) 09:00: Reunion (premieres 9/8) Friday Saturday Huh. I just looked over my TV schedule. There's a lot of shows... I may have to cut back. Damn. OMG. I want this Harry Potter iPod. I would totally buy it if it wasn't bundled with the audio books. GRR. Posted by Kel at 11:30 PM | Comments (7) September 5, 2005 It was a lazy weekend for me... I just love it. I met Nicola yesterday (Rob and I took her to buy a TV) and she's every bit as awesome as you would expect. It's funny because I was kinda nervous about meeting her so when I opened the car door for her to get in, I wasn't paying attention and rammed the door right into her leg. How embarrassing. Anyway, it's so nice to finally be able to put a face to a name! :) I had a Laguna Beach season 1 marathon yesterday. If you're a fan, you definitely need to rent the DVDs, specifically the third disc. There's lots of deleted scenes, interviews (from before and after the filming of the show) and featurettes (I especially love the one where LC shows off her house -- damn, she is loaded). I don't really have many friends who watch this show but I have some comments... I love Kristin. There. I admit it. I know she's snobby and loud and probably thinks a little too highly of herself... but she has fun and doesn't care about what other people think of her. She's great for bringing in the drama. That doesn't mean I side with her regarding the Kristin/Stephen/LC triangle, though (I do, however, prefer Kristin and Stephen as a couple to Stephen and LC). I think Stephen's to blame for that mess. He obviously wants to be with Kristin but can't seem to let go of LC as the rebound girl. UGH. It makes me nuts. I can't understand why LC just won't move on. Can't stand the "brunettes," Morgan and Christina. Why are they always talking about morals?! And is it completely horrible that I laughed when Christina had her Broadway audition? I hope she doesn't actually believe she can make a living out of singing. :/ Love Lo and Trey -- the 2 of them were like the unexpected stars for me. Trey because he was so mellow and Lo because she was so damn funny (without really meaning to be). I've missed a few episodes of the second season but I can definitely say I prefer the cast of the first season far more. The second season brought Jason (total player -- UGH), Alex M (awful girl who asks another girl's boyfriend to the formal -- who DOES that?), Jessica (poor girl lets Jason walk ALL over her), Taylor (Booorring), and Casey (I'm not convinced that she's not actually a human Barbie doll). These new kids don't hold a candle to the original cast. OK. Enough crappy reality show talk. I need to get my fall TV schedule in order. I'll save that for my next entry. Last but not least -- I want to wish a very Happy Birthday to Alie! :) Posted by Kel at 09:50 PM | Comments (0) So I was about to go to bed and I'm flipping through the channels and what do I see? A 24 marathon. CRAP. There goes sleep... :) Posted by Kel at 01:06 AM | Comments (0) |
