October 30, 2005 american dreams finale I'm listening to Christmas music right now. LOL. I'm so ready for the holiday season... it's definitely my most favorite time of the year. I've even started my Christmas shopping. HEE! I downloaded all 13 Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire clips from The Leaky Cauldron and NONE of them had sound for me. Grrr. I guess I'm not meant to spoil myself for the movie, hee. (And Sarah, you're totally right -- the movie comes out on Nov 18. I'm just too excited! I can't wait any longer, lol). I think I have a new favorite celebrity couple -- Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling. I had absolutely NO CLUE that they were dating until I saw the cute pictures of them grocery shopping. Aww. It's like Noah and Allie come to life! An entry wouldn't be complete without some TV stuff (possible spoilers ahead)... Am I totally out of the loop? Has Kitchen Confidential been cancelled? Prison Break is getting another 2 hour Monday event tomorrow so it has me wondering... Everwood 4.05, Connect Four Grey's Anatomy One Tree Hill And for American Dreams fans, there was a good update on the extended finale on Ask Ausiello this week (Thanks to Robyn for the head's up!)... Question: I can't wait to find out more about the American Dreams alterna-finale, like you promised in last week's AA. Please tell me that Chris disappears from Meg's life and she ultimately ends up with her true love Sam! - LJ Ausiello: Well, the first half of your wish came true, LJ. Chris is definitely out of Meg's life. And I know this because - brace yourselves, Dreamers, - I've seen the elusive epilogue! Jonathan Prince sent a DVD copy to me via armored vehicle late last week and all I can say is it more than lived up to the hype. Now, before I present you with the highlights, let me assure you that, come hell or high water, you will see the ending, too. Worse case scenario: You'll have to wait for the Season 2 and 3 boxed DVD set, which will hopefully street sometime in '06. "We're in negotiations now," Prince says of the DVD. "And the epilogue would absolutely be included." But there's slight chance you won't have to wait until then. I can't get into specifics, but a top-secret plan is afoot that could bring the ending to you much sooner and cement my status as an American hero in the process. Hopefully, I'll have more to share in the coming weeks. In the meantime, here are some interesting facts/tidbits/spoilers about the climax to whet your appetite. Stop reading now if you prefer to wait for the real deal. * The flashback-heavy capper is 10 minutes long, edited down from 20 minutes of raw footage. * The only Dreams principals appearing in new scenes are Brittany Snow, Gail O'Grady and Tom Verica. * Most of the epilogue takes place on a bus, with Meg - now a junior at Berkeley - heading to New York to visit Sam at Columbia. "This would have been the first time she's seen Sam in three years," says Prince. * Meg meets a friend on the bus, and it's during their conversation that we learn that Patty went to Radcliffe and Roxanne married Luke and had a son named Woody Allen. * At the last minute, Meg decides to get off the bus in Philadelphia, where she returns home and reunites with her mom and dad for the first time in three years. Next week, Jonathan reveals what would have happened had Dreams gone a fourth season. (Hint: It's splitsville for Helen and Jack!) ___ Yay for the break-up of Meg/Chris but she hasn't seen Sam in 3 years?!? I know it was definitely a long shot that they would ever try to have a relationship again but... a girl can dream. *sigh* And I can't believe Helen and Jack might have separated had the show not been cancelled. I just... I NEVER would have expected that to happen at all. They had problems but I always felt like they were the foundation, the center of the show. Guh, I can't wait for the DVDs. Posted by Kel at 10:22 PM &. C O M M E N T S.I had no idea Rachel and Ryan were dating either! That is too cute. I love Ryan Gosling so much. Lucky Rachel. Posted by: Sarah at October 31, 2005 09:02 AM I am totally back on the Amy/Ephram train. Not that I ever really stopped loving them... it's just that after the end of last season, I haven't actually liked Ephram, which makes it pretty hard to 'ship them. But as soon as he revealed to Andy that he came back because he's still in love with Amy, I just melted. Couldn't agree with you more. I was really pissy with Ephramy shipping since he broke up with Amy and was being a total ass, but like you I'm back on the Ephramy love train :) PS: Best line from the ep was when Bright was asking what Hannah considered sex and she said anything that had the word "sex" in it and then he asked, "what about anything with the word 'job' in it?" LMAO I laughed so hard. Posted by: Alie at October 31, 2005 10:17 AM I so wish that American Dreams was still on. There's so much good stuff that could happen. It ended way too soon! Posted by: barry at November 1, 2005 05:35 PM I'm into the Holiday season as well! Probably the reason why I'm already busy with my Christmas gifts. Posted by: Kelly at November 2, 2005 03:24 AM &.
