Anyone catch Bedford Diaries last night? I'm just wondering if it's worth downloading.

So I originally planned to blog about Everwood tonight (Yay, it's back!) but then I sat down and watched One Tree Hill.

OMG. OMG. !!! Spoilers ahead...

THEY KILLED KEITH. :(

I still can't believe it. Keith!

All in all, though, I enjoyed the episode... well, except for the tacky party, which I'm conveniently going to ignore. Nathan and Haley are in love (all is right with the world!). Peyton and Brooke are BFF and roomies (as much as I want Lucas and Peyton together, I would hate for it to be at the expense of Peyton and Brooke's relationship). And I loved the ending scene as the boys walked up to Jimmy's grave site. But poor Karen. She and Keith were going to get married. *sob*

It's all Dan's fault! RIP Keith.

Song recs from the episode:
How to Save a Life by The Fray
Do You Want to Come With? by Stephen Fretwell

Veronica Mars (*almost* felt like season 1 again) and Lost (I *knew* I was right about Henry Gale!) were awesome as well. It's been a good week for TV. :D

Everwood returns tomorrow!

It's about time! The show's been off the WB's schedule since November. I CAN'T WAIT. SQUEE.

I just finished watching Red Eye... you know, the movie with Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy.

I haven't laughed like that in such a long time.

Heh.

Anyway. I know we're in the middle of March Madness (yay UCLA!) but it's ALSO the week of the World Figure Skating Championships. Woot! Spoilers/results ahead...

For me, the best event was the men's competition. Lambiel and Joubert really battled for the gold -- both of them landed 2 quads in their free skate! Amazing. And Evan Lysacek pulled off another clutch performance to win the bronze. He's my new favorite male skater. Plus, this year's podium is definitely easy on the eyes. :D

The women were a different story. Gawd, I am SO INCREDIBLY disappointed. I *knew* Sasha Cohen couldn't pull it off (she has pretty much never skated 2 clean programs) but without Slutskaya and Arakawa, I thought she would have to have a mental breakdown in order not to win. And what do you know, she did! She's such an awesome skater... I really, really wish she could get it together. :( But OMG. NOT Kimmie Meissner. *pulls hair* World Champion? With her awkward, gangly arms and lack of artistry? Argh. I like her but I think she's more of a technician than a package skater. Oh well. At least Fumie Suguri medaled. It's a little redemption after coming in 4th at the Olympics. I just love her.

I can't believe it's the first time since 1994 that Michelle Kwan hasn't been at Worlds. *sniff* I miss her.

I finally caught up with America's Next Top Model. Is it just me or is the quality of the contestants in this cycle just not there? I mean, Furonda? And Gina (OMG, she upsets me so MUCH. She is so uncomfortable in her own skin)? And Jade? EEEK. Still, though, I haven't laughed as hard as I did during the runway training and the judging. Hehehe. I'm pretty evil.

So I hear that Veronica Mars is moving back to Tuesdays at 9? It won't have ANTM as a lead-in anymore... I hope that won't cause the ratings to go south. I guess that's a better slot, though, since it won't be against Lost anymore. And I'll be able to watch VM live now. I can always Tivo Supernatural.

Anyway, just wanted to do this fun TV meme stolen from Alie...

List your six favorite TV shows:
I'm doing current shows since I'm sure you all don't want to hear about Dawson's Creek anymore...
1. Everwood
2. Grey's Anatomy
3. Veronica Mars
4. CSI
5. One Tree Hill
6. The OC

01. Who is your favorite character from #2?
Burke. He's awesome. He's a strong character but doesn't come across as unlikable. And he has a really tender and romantic side, which makes me *swoon.*

02. Who is your least favorite character from #4?
That's easy. Ecklie. I don't even know his first name, that's how much I like him. He's a good antagonist but most of the time I wish he would leave the CSI's alone!

03. What would a crossover between #1 and #5 include?
EEEK. Well, I hope that the Everwood folks would mellow out the OTH kids. At the very least a confrontation between Dan Scott and Dr. Abbott would be mighty interesting. Dr. Abbott could teach Dan a few things about parenting. Heh.

04. Who is your favorite ship from #6?
This changes a lot (hey, I'm fickle). But right now, I'd say Kirsten and Sandy. As much as I love Seth and Summer, I love Kirsten and Sandy both together and individually which sometimes I can't say for the teens (*cough*Seth*cough*)

05. If you were to set one person from #3 and one person from #6 on a blind date, who would they be?
Weevil and Ryan? Hehe. They'd actually make an interesting duo since they both seem to have that hero complex when it comes to the women in their lives. I'd also like to see interaction between Taylor and Logan. I think they would be hilarious together. Taylor would boss him around and he would probably love it.

06. If you could meet one person from #4 and spend the day with them, who would it be, and what would you do?
WARRICK!!! It's a little weird but I'd love to shadow him on an investigation. Just to see the procedures and the whole thought process.

7. If you could change one thing about #2's plotline, what would you change?
I mentioned this in a previous entry, but I would kill off Denny. I think Izzie's journey would be much more interesting. I mean, what kind of relationship could she have with him if he lives? It would all be off-screen because I just can't seem him as a series regular or even a guest star. It doesn't make sense. Plus, Izzie needs to learn to have some distance with her patients.

Explain a relationship between two people (not necessarily romantic) from show #5, and why you like the relationship between them.
I adore Nathan and Haley. I just love their entire romantic story. From their secret tutoring sessions... To their surprise kiss... And to their gorgeous (but completely unexpected) wedding on the beach. Even in season 2, when the writers messed with Haley and her character, they kept me watching the show.

9. If the lead title characters (first name in the credits) from #1 and #3 were both drowning, and you could only save one, who would it be?
Well... I guess I would have to agree with Alie, I would save Kristen Bell over Treat Williams. :(

10. If you could change the title characters' order in the credits for #4, what order would you choose?
Erm, I can't remember the credit sequence and I'm far too lazy to check my DVDs... I'm sure the credits are fine. I don't remember ever thinking I wanted to change the order...

11. If you were able to add a new character, any kind of character you wanted, to the storyline for #6, what would the character be like and what would their role be?
The show is a revolving door as it is with all the new characters they have each season so I wouldn't add anyone else right now. I actually would bring back Teresa. I want to see some resolution to that baby storyline!

12. What happens in your favorite episode of show #2?
Huh. I just sat here thinking about this for awhile and I don't think I have a favorite episode for GA. There are lots of moments that I love, though... Burke giving Cristina a key, Izzie helping Alex study even after he slept with Nurse Olivia, Cristina and Izzie helping Meredith shower after the bomb explosion, Burke helping Izzie with Thanksgiving dinner... Lots of great stuff here.

13. If you could kill off one of the characters of #1, who would it be and how would you do it?
No one. I love all the Everwood folks THISMUCH. Sometimes I do have it out for Dr. Jake but during those times, I just want him to leave, not die. Besides, I hear that there's already going to be a character death this season and I don't want to think about that. :(

14. If you got the chance to visit the set for either show #3 or show #5, which would you choose?
Tough one. I'd probably choose the set of Veronica Mars just cause I'd love to hang out with Kristen Bell and Francis Capra. :D I came very close to choosing OTH but the rumor is that the set is ice cold in large part because of the animosity between Sophia Bush and Chad Michael Murray.

15. If you could date anyone from any of these shows, which show and which person?
Nathan Scott from One Tree Hill. YUMMY.

Did some movie-watching this past weekend...

Pride and Prejudice
OMG. As you all predicted, I *adored* this movie. Just everything about it. It's one of my most favorite stories and I just love seeing the romance between Lizzie and Mr. Darcy unfold on screen. Keira Knightley was incredible. I've always enjoyed her but she was particularly radiant in this movie. She definitely deserved her Oscar nomination! And Matthew McFayden was amazing. I didn't think I could love a Mr. Darcy like I love Colin Firth but it happened. Highly recommended.

V For Vendetta
Another really great movie. It was visually stimulating and thought-provoking. At first I had a problem believing in V because he wears the Guy Fawkes mask for the entire movie. But Hugo Weaving is so phenomenal that you forget about it and focus on his words and actions instead. Natalie Portman also delivers what might be her best performance to date. She *owned* this movie. Without her in the role of Evey, I don't know if V's character and ideals would have come across as sympathetic as they did. This is definitely one of those movies that you either love or hate.

March 20, 2006

I just finished watching Grey's Anatomy 2.21, Superstition and I realized something. I'm pretty much a horrible person. Let me count the ways (possible spoilers ahead)...

1. I have absolutely no sympathy for George. I'm glad Alex gave him that much-needed verbal smackdown. And I was totally annoyed when he sat down with Cristina at lunch and proceeded to let lunch meat fall down from his mouth. UGH. I have hope, though, that Dr. Torres will make him watchable again.

2. Izzie is slowly working my last nerve. I normally LOVE her but I *really* don't like the whole "doctor falling for a patient" storyline. Especially since it makes her unbelievably whiny.

3. ...unpopular opinion ahead... I kinda wanted Denny to die. Not because I didn't like him (he's awesome!) but because there would be more storylines to explore. I mean, Izzie might finally learn why she shouldn't get so involved with patients. Besides the fact that it really drives me crazy.

Anyway, I absolutely loved the music in last night's episode. I wish the ABC site would hurry up and list the songs already. Gawd. I have some downloading to do!

Woot! New Prison Break tonight! FINALLY.

WOW. Kristin Cavallari was on Veronica Mars tonight and all I could focus on was her horrible acting. Oh man, it was painful. The rest of the episode was decent. I still don't care much for this season's big mystery. But I *am* coming around on Jackie. I think I might even like her.

My Pride and Prejudice DVD arrived today. SQUEE. Can't wait to watch it. :D

I LOATHE non-paying bidders. I don't sell things often but I bought a final sale blazer online that doesn't fit so I thought I would try my luck on eBay. The auction ended last Friday and I've sent the invoice to the winning bidder and still no payment. I'm going to give it a few more days but it's never taken this long. Boo. :(

Anyway, I've had some site stuff on my mind and wanted to see if I could get some opinions from all of you... :)

1. So I've wanted to spin off High Anxiety onto its very own domain but I'm having some trouble deciding on a name. Maybe creekcaps.com? Or dawsonscreekcaps.com (too long maybe)? Anyone have suggestions?

2. I just moved Sour-Lemon.org to my server (it was previously hosted on a shared server) so I'm currently reuploading all the files. I'm wondering if I should even bother keeping the scans on the site? I haven't scanned anything in almost a year because I lost the cord that connects the scanner to the computer and I've been too lazy to replace it. I'm leaning towards taking the scans down completely but I'm so indecisive that I need to be pushed over the edge. Someone want to give me that push? :P

Hope everyone's having a great week! :D

March 13, 2006

It's been so cold here lately (like, unbelievably FREEZING) that I've been much too lazy to update my blog. I spent the entire weekend wrapped up in my goose down comforter and watching The Island. Not a completely horrible movie but not particularly good either. Or maybe I was so disappointed with the ending that it's completely clouded my judgment. Ewan McGregor was great, though. As per usual. Up next on zee Netflix queue -- Elizabethtown. Hey, I have a soft spot for Kirsten Dunst and awesome soundtracks.

OMG. I just finished watching tonight's episode of 24.

NOT TONY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:(

Please, please, please.

March 8, 2006

Picked up the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire DVD! WHEE. There's so many great special features that I've only had the chance to watch the following:

Deleted Scenes
I'm a sucker for trio scenes so the deleted scenes were great -- specifically this scene by the fireplace and this scene on the school grounds (look at how cute they are with their scarves!).

Interviews with the Cast
I never realized how shy Rupert was in interviews. It's so cute how hesitant and reserved he is when answering questions. Dan and Emma, on the other hand, are enthusiastic and eloquent. They really are a lot like characters in some ways. Some interesting tidbits -- Dan has a crush on Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson, Dan is looking forward to doing the kissing scene with Cho Chang in the OotP, and Emma reveals that she had such a hard time getting through the scene in CoS where she runs through the Great Hall to hug Dan that they had to freeze the hug by a few seconds when editing the movie because all the takes were too short (aww!).

Preparing the Yule Ball
This feature totally made me smile! I loved seeing the kids all dressed up but seeing them practice the dance choreography was golden. :D And poor Dan. Both he and Mike Newell commented on his absolute lack of dancing abilities. Heh. But my favorite part was when various people were talking about Hermione's big entrance down the stairs and Dan said "Emma was never ugly, she's always been quite beautiful, so I was kinda like you're just even more beautiful." LOVE. It must be my Harry/Hermione love turning itself into Dan/Emma shippiness. :P

Anyway, Project Runway (spoiler)!

YAY CHLOE!

March 6, 2006

Saw the X-Men 3 trailer while watching 24 tonight. SQUEE. I'm so excited for MAY 26. YAY.

Anyway, the 24 2-hour event!

Most Shocking Moment: Jack shooting Miriam in the leg. HOLY CRAP. I did NOT expect that at all.

Most Annoying New Character: Barry. Why do the writers have to burden Kim with him? He annoys me. Anyway, it's good to see Kim! I know I'm in the minority but I love her.

Character I'd Like to Kick: Lynn. I can't believe he didn't report his key card missing sooner. So frustrating.

What Happened to Continuity? Moment: Jack standing outside of CTU looking up at the sun with the flags in plain view. And they ARE NOT at half mast. ARGH. President Palmer only died 9 hours ago! I think the writers/producers forget that the little details DO matter.

Sad Moment: Tony accessing the computer and finding out that Michelle died in the explosion. *sob* ILOVEYOUTONY. And of course he would find himself in the same room as Henderson after the lockdown. OF COURSE.

Saddest Moment: Edgar running toward to the situation room and realizing the room was already sealed. I didn't even really like the guy but that was incredibly sad. He just... crumpled to the floor. And he got the silent countdown. So he's really dead. *sniff*

I love this show.

OSCARS!!!

A few thoughts from the show...

The opening bit was really funny with Billy Crystal and Chris Rock in the Brokeback tent.

So much George Clooney love! I'm glad he won Best Supporting Actor... just because I lurve him. He gave my favorite acceptance speech of the night. I'm listening to his post-show interviews as I'm typing this and he just said that he blew the Batman franchise. Heh. True. I love that he doesn't take himself so seriously that he can admit that.

Aww, I really wanted Michelle Williams to win Best Supporting Actress -- if only to see a Creeker win an Oscar! And it was so cute to see Busy Phillips sitting next to her. They're BESTFRIENDS4EVA.

PANTS EQUALITY FOR ALL! Hehe. That made me want to see Chicken Little.

Dolly Parton looks scary. Her boobs are like ten times bigger than her waist. EEEK. :/

What is Charlize wearing? That dress is unfortunate. The big bow is *awful.*

I totally want one of those stuffed penguins.

Three 6 Mafia winning Best Song for It's Hard Out Here For a Pimp was one of the BEST Oscar moments. EVER.

Jon Stewart was a great host. I loved when he was giggling about Three 6 Mafia. I especially loved this joke:
Martin Scorsese - 0 Oscars
Three 6 Mafia - 1
BWAH.

Yay Reese! Another great acceptance speech. There's just something about her that I find so charming and likable.

Wow, Crash won. Huh. It was a good movie but I didn't really like it. Now, Brokeback Mountain I loved. I seriously thought it was going to win. That was a big upset.

Favorite Oscar dresses this year: Michelle Williams, Jessica Alba, and Keira Knightley.

Is it just me or is this season of American Idol completely lackluster? I couldn't get through either night of performances. *yawn*
