January 24, 2007 I'm so excited that Emily VanCamp's going to be on TV again! I just adore her. Too bad she's going to be on Brothers and Sisters, a show that I don't currently watch. But I love EVC so I'll check it out... at least all the episodes are available on ABC.com so I can catch up before her episodes start airing. So I was watching American Idol earlier and a contestant named Jenry totally caught my eye. He's easy on the eyes (read: HOT) and has a decent voice. Niiiice. BUT. He's only 16, which means... jailbait. I feel dirty. Posted by Kel at 10:07 PM | Comments (3) January 23, 2007 Well, damn. After the first 9 episodes of the season, I thought I was done with Veronica Mars. I guess I was wrong. Show Me the Monkey was a FUN episode -- great start to the murder mystery, lots of interaction between the characters (love the Veronica/Mac/Parker trio), and it actually made me care about Veronica again. Good stuff. The only bad thing about the episode was the lack of Wallace. :( My favorite exchange of the episode had to be -- Veronica: "A monkey... as in..." Posted by Kel at 10:24 PM | Comments (0) January 21, 2007 Eeek. I don't know if anyone noticed but I had a bit of a domain scare this past week. I arrived home on Wednesday to check on my blog and found one of those dreaded domain placeholder pages. I forgot to renew my domain. !!! Luckily, my registrar let me renew it even if I was past the deadline. Phew. What a way to celebrate e-l.net's 5th anniversary. YAY! Anyway, I saw the movie Step Up recently and while it was mediocre (the dancing saved the movie for me), I must say that Channing Tatum is HOT and I would gladly watch this movie over and over just for him. :D It also had a pretty rocking soundtrack, mostly Pop and R&B songs. Here are a few of my favorites for your downloading pleasure -- Right click, save as...
I also watched the Justice Leage episode of Smallville and it was SO MUCH FUN. Cheesy but totally awesome. I haven't watched the 4 episodes prior to this one (they're saved on the Tivo) but that didn't matter. It wasn't really necessary to follow the storyline. The BEST part was when the Justice Leaguers walked away in slow motion from the explosion. SQUEE. I would totally watch a spinoff. (And apparently I'm not the only one -- someone already put together credits for a JL-centric show). But does this mean that Oliver Queen/The Green Arrow is officially gone? I LOVE HIM. HE ROCKS. And he's a big reason why I'm enjoying this season. Please tell me he'll still be around. I don't know if SMVL will still hold my attention without him. Posted by Kel at 11:23 PM | Comments (3) January 16, 2007 The Minneapolis auditions of American Idol were SO BAD. And I loved every minute of it. Hehe. But I really can't wait until they get to Hollywood. I get tired of the auditions after a few episodes. I also watched my recording of the Golden Globes from last night. I watched the 3+ hour show in about 50 minutes. Thank goodness for that fast-forward button. :D I was incredibly happy that America Ferrara and Meryl Streep won. America was so beautiful and her speech so heartfelt and Meryl Streep, as always, was eloquent and classy. I adore both of those ladies. My favorite speeches, though, have to go to Hugh Laurie (he's so subtly hilarious) and Sasha Baron Cohen (OMG, his speech bordered on inappropriate but damn, I was in tears from laughing so hard). And maybe it's just me but did anyone notice the completely opposite vibe from the casts of Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy? I sensed tension coming from the GA cast whereas the UB cast was so happy and everyone was clapping and hugging one another. They really seem like they enjoy working together. Plus, when Vanessa Williams bounded onto the stage from out of nowhere, they all cheered and gave her a group hug. Just... aww. In Globes fashion talk, Reese Witherspoon and Hayden Panettiere had my favorite "looks" of the night.
On a random note, I found this picture of Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio from one of the after parties and it totally brought me back to 1998. Rose and Jack forever!!!
As for other TV news, I think I'm addicted to the new MTV "reality" show, Dance Life. It's a reality show about professional dancers! I can't help it. You should watch it too. Mondays at 10:30pm. :D Posted by Kel at 10:57 PM | Comments (6) January 15, 2007 OH MY GAWD. The 24 season premiere was CRAZY. INSANE. Aaaaggghhh. I can't believe Jack had to kill Curtis. !!! I *love* Curtis. But then again, he lasted 2 seasons longer than I thought he would so I guess I'm not surprised. But poor Jack. :( He's totally messed up. Also, Tom Lennox and Sandra Palmer SUCK. Go away. Posted by Kel at 10:30 PM | Comments (1) January 14, 2007 I'M TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE. (Carmen, you told me so). Rob and I went to the Future Sex/Love Show on Thursday night in San Jose and it was SO AMAZING. But then again, I didn't expect anything less. His Justified concert still lives on as one of the best concerts I've ever attended. The concert lasted 2 hours and Justin came out in a snappy suit (OMG, SO HOT). He had so much infectious energy -- he was bounding across the stage and singing his heart out. GUH. He's such a great performer. I LOVE YOU JUSTIN. CALL ME. The only thing I would change is the center stage. I didn't like the fact that Justin was only facing my side of the arena half the time. But I guess seeing his backside wasn't so bad. Heh. :P And because I like things like this, here's the set list for the show (cut in case this is too spoilery for some): Future Sex/Love Sounds Encore - Another Song (All Over Again) Oh man, I totally want to see JT in concert again. If I could, I would totally fly to Vegas on Friday to see him again. I AM A DORK. :D Posted by Kel at 05:30 PM | Comments (1) January 9, 2007 Oh wow, this poem *totally* describes me right now... I can barely fit into any of my pants! GRRR. 'Twas the month after Christmas, and all through the house, Found at Chef Messy. :) Posted by Kel at 11:30 PM | Comments (3) January 7, 2007 Had a nice, relaxing weekend... woke up at noon both days, hehehe. And I've been listening to Justin Timberlake non-stop to get ready for the concert on Thursday. SQUEE!!! Here's Part 2 of the photo meme... Click on the pictures to see larger versions. My DVD Collection requested by Alie
Aaahhh, my beloved DVDs. I don't know why I'm such a DVD whore. :D Most of my TV DVDs are on the top 2 shelves of the middle section. Movies are on the 3rd shelf and on the left section. (Random -- CDs are on the right section and books take up the bottom 3 shelves of the middle section). This entire shelf is seriously overflowing. I've had to start piling both DVDs and books in front of one another cause there's just no room. It'll probably be messily organized like this until we move to a bigger place (no plans for that, though, so it'll be awhile). :/ My Bed/Favorite Place to Relax requested by Sarah ![]() Mmmm... I love my bed. It's huge and comfy and the goose-down comforter makes it so warm and toasty. This makes it my absolute favorite place in my apartment to relax. I could bury myself under the covers with a good book/magazine and be completely content. Plus, I think my new yellow floral bedsheets are incredibly pretty (Simply Shabby Chic collection from Target!). Aside from the bed, I have a boring, boring bedroom. There's nothing on the walls so it's kind of... blah. I would LOVE to put up beautiful framed photos of France (I've been obsessed since my trip!) or even some artwork. One day... Something That is Ugly/Weird Looking That I Can't Part With requested by Sarah ![]() This is a picture of my fridge. It's covered in photos, invitations, and random magnets. The item that I am slightly freaked out by but can't seem to throw out is this weird cross-stitched smiley face magnet. I circled it so you all know what I'm talking about. Doesn't it look slightly... evil? My Toothbrush requested by Sarah ![]() Nothing too exciting here. Rob and I have Sonicare toothbrushes and love them. Mine is the one on the right. View From Balcony requested by Kate ![]() The screen on my bedroom window doesn't open very wide so I decided to take a picture of the view from my balcony (it's pretty much exactly the same). Again, nothing exciting... just office buildings on the other side of the street. The high rise is another apartment/condo complex. Behind these buildings, though, is the bay! And a beautiful view of San Francisco, the Bay Bridge and in the distance, the Golden Gate Bridge. Sadly, none of these are visible from my apartment. If they were, I'd probably be paying an extra $1000 in rent. So I guess it's a good thing. :P The final part of the meme coming later this week (if anyone wants to request anything else, please feel free! This is fun!). Posted by Kel at 11:49 PM | Comments (4) January 3, 2007 I'm finally getting to the photo meme from a few weeks back. *blush* This is only a third of it (I STILL have yet to tidy up my apartment enough to take pictures)... Click on the pictures to see larger versions. Favorite Shoes requested by Alyson ![]() My Classic Short Uggs in Chestnut are my most favorite shoes. EVER. They're not exactly fashionable but they are *so* warm and toasty. I wear them to and from work every day in the winter. I think I may invest in a Chocolate-colored pair. Favorite Handbag requested by Alyson ![]() I didn't care for Louis Vuitton pieces until this year. Then all of a sudden, I HAD TO HAVE this bag. Going to Paris made me pull the trigger since the prices there (even with the exchange rate) are less expensive than in the US. It's a little hard to get in and out of but I love that it complements any outfit really well. *N Sync Dolls requested by Robyn ![]() Rob gave me a complete set of *N Sync marionette dolls back in 2000 when I wanted anything and everything *N Sync. I displayed them on my bookshelf and all but the Lance doll remained unopened in their boxes. (I couldn't resist opening one of them, hehe). Anyway, when Rob and I moved to our smaller apartment in 2005, there just wasn't any room for them. I had to box them up and put them in storage. I did keep my JC Chasez bobblehead out, though, so that's what's shown in the picture above. It's on top of my desk. :D My Christmas Tree requested by Carmen
YAY!!! My Christmas tree! I love it so. I always decorate my tree in cream and gold... it just looks so elegant, I think. The tree's actually still up. I was too lazy to take it down on New Year's Day. :/ I'll have to do that this weekend. It makes me sad because it means the holidays are officially over. The second picture is a close-up of the tree, specifically the pretty, pretty Eiffel Tower ornament I got in Paris. And here's a bonus picture of the Christmas trees that were in my office building's lobby... ![]() The pink and red theme is also really beautiful. I loved the sight of them every weekday morning. That's it for now... More to come this weekend. That's the plan. :) AAAGGGGHHHHH!!! The OC has been cancelled. Only another 2 months of episodes. *sniff* Posted by Kel at 11:31 PM | Comments (4) January 2, 2007 I'm trying to blog more in 2007 but I can't seem to think of anything interesting to write about. And of course we also watched the ball drop on Dick Clark's Rocking New Year's Eve. It's a tradition! I spent today doing absolutely nothing, which was AWESOME. I can tell I'm up for a rude awakening when I have to go back to work tomorrow. Anyway, another meme... this time a 2006/2007 Fandom Meme stolen from Christie... What fandoms did you acquire in 2006?
