February 28, 2007 I was tagged by Ceci for this music meme. :D List seven songs you are into right now, no matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your Here we go! Right click, save as...
I'm too lazy to tag anyone. :D Just do it! It's fun! I found these video links on LJ and found them entertaining so I thought I'd share... Kristen Bell and Chris Lowell from Veronica Mars interviewing each other. You learn pretty much nothing about them but it is damn hilarious. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Movie Preview. 7 minutes of behind-the-scenes stuff with the cast. I CAN'T WAIT! Off to watch Lost... Posted by Kel at 09:43 PM | Comments (1) February 26, 2007 I checked out The Black Donnellys premiere tonight and while I enjoyed it, I didn't like any of the characters. I don't know how I can watch a show if I don't care about anyone. I mean, what's the point? Knowing me, though, I'll probably give it another chance next week. Shows tend to pick up in the second or third episodes anyway. Besides, Studio 60 is on hiatus so I have a free TV timeslot. Heh. I did love the Snow Patrol song that played over the ending montage. You can download it here -- Right click, save as... :) Posted by Kel at 11:38 PM | Comments (1) February 25, 2007 My annual Oscar comments... WTF was up with Ellen's monologue? Can Will Ferrell host the Oscars next year? Cause I totally loved his song with Jack Black and John C. Reilly. Why so many montages??? Those shadow dancers. Seriously? Ok, they just did Snakes on the Plane. That was pretty funny. OMG, I'm so jealous of Jennifer Hudson. George Clooney just handed her her Oscar. Oh, and I'm so glad she took off that awful jacket when she went on stage to accept her award. Adored Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt (and Meryl Streep, technically) giving out the award for Costume Design. Their little Devil Wears Prada bit was great. And I was totally astounded by all the nominees for that category. Such gorgeous, gorgeous work. First LOL moment for me came from Seinfeld talking about our "deal" with movie theatres... "When we're finished, we just open our hand." BWAH. I'm kinda surprised that Dreamgirls didn't win Original Song. It's a musical! Was it just me or has there been backlash against the movie going into the show? Anyway, I absolutely LOVED Anika Noni Rose's dress during their performance. Beautiful. And I seriously thought Jennifer Hudson's boobs were going to pop out of her dress. Phew. Philip Seymour Hoffman's hair. WHAT WAS THAT? Loved Forest Whitaker's speech. Very touching. *sniff* YAY MARTIN SCORCESE. YAY DEPARTED. That's all I got. Watching the Oscars is so exhausting. Posted by Kel at 11:07 PM | Comments (2) February 22, 2007 Grrr. I wish we had Showtime. I *so* want to see The Tudors. I mean, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Henry Cavill, and Callum Blue! GUH. If anyone's interested, there's an extended promo/trailer here. Oh, Britney. What is going on with her? Shaving her head, hitting an SUV with an umbrella outside of K-Fed's residence, entering her 3rd rehab facility... ??? OMG. I've always been a fan but seriously, this is too much. Get a grip, girl. So tonight was the series finale of The OC. The episode is saved on the Tivo but I haven't watched it yet. If I do, the show will really be over! I hate it when shows end. :( Posted by Kel at 10:06 PM | Comments (1) February 19, 2007 I just LOVE 3-day weekends. I usually have big plans like cleaning the apartment, doing laundry, going to the gym, etc. But what always happens is that I catch up with my TV and eat. A LOT. For example, I rarely ever eat donuts but this weekend, we passed by Krispy Kreme and I think I inhaled about 6. YIKES. And I think I totally overdosed on TV too. I caught up with most shows (except Studio 60 and Gilmore Girls) and I blew through a cumulative total of 10+ episodes to get almost-but-not-quite caught up with Smallville and Friday Night Lights. Honestly, I'm not sure why I still watch Smallville sometimes, lol. Lex and Lana (the characters and their relationship) are ruined to me and I'm finding myself really loving Chloe. WHAT IS GOING ON?! But Friday Night Lights is a completely different show and gawd, I absolutely love it. I cry for Jason, I get angry at Smash, I am sad for Matt, I am horrified yet understanding about the Street/Taylor lawsuit, and I go "Awww" for Matt/Julie and Coach/Tami. This show? It sure makes me feel. I especially love all the men. They're the ones that make this show work for me. The ladies are great too (except Tyra -- after 13 episodes, I haven't warmed up to her at all) but they don't really hold a candle to Coach, Matt, Jason, Tim, Smash, and Landry. *hugs them all* So I'm watching the latest episode of Grey's Anatomy and all of a sudden, I see an old friend of mine from high school!!! He was playing a paramedic at the beginning of the episode and he actually had a few lines talking to Derek. Is that weird OR WHAT?! Back in high school, he was always the one who tried out for school plays/musicals so I'm not surprised to find that he's still working at it. I'm so happy for him. We weren't super close or anything but we had a lot of mutual friends so we kinda ran around the same circles and went to school events together as part of a big group. (Robyn, if you're reading this, it was Tim!) The other big surprise of the episode was the very end. You know what I'm talking about. Mmmm. :D Also, Izzie needs to learn when to keep her mouth shut. Chastising George about his marriage was SO not appropriate at that time. I used to love her so much. But now, I can't stand her. I think I might even like George more than her. Which is saying a lot. The series finale of The OC is just days away. The penultimate episode was great but I couldn't watch it without feeling sad. I did love the following moments: -- Ryan: I suddenly have the urge to listen to Death Cab and....read comic books. I have high hopes for the finale. *sobs* I think I'm giving up America's Next Top Model. I have too many shows to keep up with and something has to go. Especially since I'd like to give The Black Donnellys a try. Posted by Kel at 08:47 PM | Comments (4) February 14, 2007 Happy Valentine's Day everyone! :) Rob and I are saving our V-Day dinner for this weekend (Trader Vic's, yay!) so we just grabbed Indian food for dinner and had a nice, relaxing night at home. Hope you all had a great day filled with lots of love, cheer, and of course, chocolate. :D Anyway, a high school meme snagged from Sarah... My senior year was 1996-1997. 1. Who was your best friend? 2. What sports did you play? 3. What kind of car did you drive? 4. It's Friday night, where were you? 5. Were you a party animal? 6. Were you in the "In Crowd"? 7. Ever skip school? 8. Ever smoke? 9. Were you a nerd? 10. Did you get suspended/expelled? 11. Can you sing the Alma Mater? 12. Who was your favorite teacher? 13. Favorite Class? 14. What was your school's full name? 15. School Mascot? 16. Did you go to Prom? 17. If you could go back and do it over, would you? 18. What do you remember most about graduation? 19. Favorite memory of your Senior Year? 20. Were you ever posted up on the senior wall? 21. Did you have a job your senior year? 22. Who did you date? 23. Where did you go most often for lunch? 24. Have you gained weight since then? 25. What did you do after graduation? It was kinda fun looking back at high school... :) Posted by Kel at 09:40 PM | Comments (6) February 11, 2007 Currently watching the Grammys because JUSTIN WILL BE PERFORMING. Yay! I can't believe there's only 2 more episodes of The OC left before it's OVER. This season has been so great compared to the last two and I'm so sad to see it go. *sob* I'm especially sad that I won't be able to see anymore of Ryan and Taylor's story. I never thought about the pairing prior to this season (I can't help it -- I loved Marissa) so I was pleasantly surprised when the show brought them together and I fell in love. They're so different (Taylor's overwhelming while Ryan's passive) yet they just work. And I don't know that I've ever seen Ryan so happy before. The way he looked at Taylor when he said "I love you" in the last episode was absolutely swoon-worthy. Actually, they had a ton of great scenes in The Shake-Up: -- After getting drunk, Taylor says she's going to sleep and Ryan knows she's pretending... "Are you pretending to go to sleep thinking I'll tell you I love you while you're unconscious?" HEE! *Such* a Taylor thing to do. LOVE THEM. Ben McKenzie and Autumn Reeser have great chemistry together. I should also mention that Willa Holland has totally impressed me this season. I didn't like Kaitlin at all last season. She had a bad attitude and misbehaved simply because she wanted to get a reaction from those around her. But this season, the writers have really given her layers and Willa's done a great job of portraying Kaitlin as manipulative (clown porn!) yet caring (all her scenes with the Bullit) and vulnerable (her short-lived relationship with Chris Brown). So I've definitely warmed up to the character but in the last episode, when she was yelling at Julie and said "In the last year we lost Dad, Marissa, Dr. Neil...," that's when I finally understood her and loved her for it. Oh, The OC, I'm going to miss you so. Well, I've finally caught up with all 13 episodes of Brothers and Sisters. Just in time to catch Emily VanCamp's episode next week. I really love this show. From Justin's rebelliousness, to Kevin's secret relationship with Chad, and to Nora's general wackiness... it's all great. I can't wait to see how EVC's character, Rebecca, interacts with the rest of the Walker clan. A few Grammy comments... John Mayer, cut your hair, please. Thanks. I find T.I. kinda hot. Is that weird? Robyn Troup is SO DAMN LUCKY. I want to HUG Justin too. :D Squee! For the shot of Adrian Pasdar as the Dixie Chicks won Album of the Year. That's all I've got. Posted by Kel at 11:53 PM | Comments (1) February 5, 2007 Quick Monday night TV thoughts... Poor Jack Bauer. He has the WORST. FAMILY. EVER. Michael and Sara totally made me SQUEE with joy in Prison Break. Those two have smoldering chemistry. I've been so hesitant to like them together because in PB time, it's only been a few months since they first met. There just hasn't been enough time for them to develop feelings for each other. But I can't help it. The show is trying to manipulate me and I'm totally getting sucked in. I'm such a sap. I absolutely love Heroes but I rarely feel compelled to blog about it... until tonight. HOLY CRAP. The reveal at the end!!! (Cutting for spoilers). I can't believe NATHAN (!!!) is Claire's biological father. I love Nathan. I love Claire. Such a great twist. WOW. It was a good night for TV. Posted by Kel at 10:20 PM | Comments (2) February 3, 2007 Thanks for all the great words of encouragement, everyone. You don't know how much they mean to me. *hugs* I'm feeling so much better now that I got some of that "stuff" off my chest. Plus, I've been comforting myself with... TV!!! I finally sat down and watched 6 episodes of Brothers and Sisters today on abc.com and it's SO GREAT. The cast is fantastic... Sally Field, Ron Rifkin, Calista Flockhart, Rachel Griffiths... they're just ALL incredible. The siblings and really, the entire family, all have amazing chemistry and their interactions are genuine and real. The storylines get complicated and messy but they never become too dramatic and "soap-y." It doesn't hurt that there's some great eye candy in the form of Balthazar Getty too. Love him! It's funny, though, I've watched about half of the episodes that have aired and I don't have a favorite character yet. Right now I love all 5 siblings equally. They each have their little quirks that make me love them. I do know that I'm not crazy about the matriarch of the family, Nora Walker (Sally Field's character). She means well but she can be so aggravating. Anyway, I'm so excited Emily VanCamp is joining the cast of this show because I don't think I would have started watching it otherwise. It's a great find. You should watch it too! I'm also excited that Jonathan Rhys Meyers is going to be on TV soon. His show, The Tudors, premieres April 1 on Showtime. I saw this picture and swooned... ![]() TOO BAD I DON'T HAVE SHOWTIME. Grrr. Posted by Kel at 10:43 PM | Comments (0) February 1, 2007 I can't believe it's February already. January flew by so quickly. So I've been feeling out of sorts lately. I just... I'm not really all that happy. :/ I think it's a combination of things, really. Work. Friends. Weight. There are other things but I'm starting to get sick of my whiny ramblings. I'm not usually this dramatic! Really! But it feels really good to get it all out. Posted by Kel at 11:37 PM | Comments (5) |
