March 28, 2007 Totally random tonight... I'm so buying the Star Wars postage stamps when they're released in May. I even voted for the stamp that should get its own sheet here. I'm a DORK. :D Justin Timberlake just announced a second leg to his North American Tour. I wonder if I can convince someone to go with me again, hehe. The dates close to me are -- September Carmen/Robyn, if we do girls weekend in Sept, we should totally go the weekend of the JT concert! Never mind, I just looked it up, that's Labor Day weekend and plane tickets will be INSANE. :P And because I'm bored, a movie meme stolen from Alie. 1. Name a movie that you have seen more than 10 times: 2. Name a movie that you've seen multiple times in the theater: 3. Name an actor that would make you more inclined to see a movie: 4. Name an actor that would make you less likely to see a movie: 5. Name a movie that you can and do quote from: 6. Name a movie musical that you know all of the lyrics to all of the songs: 7. Name a movie that you have been known to sing along with: 8. Name a movie that you would recommend everyone see: 9. Name a movie that you own: 10. Name an actor that launched his/her entertainment career in another medium, but who has surprised you with his/her acting chops: 11. Have you ever seen a movie in a drive-in? If so, what? 12. Name a movie that you keep meaning to see but just haven't yet gotten around to it: 13. Ever walked out of a movie? 14. Name a movie that made you cry: 15. Popcorn? 16. How often do you go to the movies (as opposed to renting them or watching them at home)? 17. What's the last movie you saw in the theatre? 18. What's your favourite/preferred genre of movie? 19. What's the first movie you remember seeing in the theatre? 20. What movie do you wish you had never seen? 21. What is the weirdest movie you enjoyed? 22. What is the scariest movie you've seen? 23. What is the funniest movie you've seen? :) Posted by Kel at 09:17 PM | Comments (5) March 27, 2007 Can you guys believe that the only really exciting that's happened in the last week is that Rob and I finally bought a new couch? :) We can finally get rid of that navy blue IKEA abomination (see photo meme pics). WOOT. I'm going to try and sell it but for now, it's in the corner of our dining room along with a small side table that we no longer have room for. IT'S A TOTAL MESS IN HERE. Anyway, since this is a totally lame-o entry, I bring you a song to download from Timbaland's upcoming album -- Right click, save as...
Posted by Kel at 08:48 PM | Comments (1) March 21, 2007 Found this meme on Chef Messy and thought I'd give it a whirl... 100 People, Places, and Things that I LOVE (Well, mostly things... :P Oh, and in no particular order...) 01. Rob 26. Tivo Phew. That was fun. :) Posted by Kel at 11:05 PM | Comments (0) March 18, 2007 I was reading Christie's LJ and found the following news... Thirty years after delivering thrills to Star Wars fans, R2-D2 is delivering mail. The brave little droid will be promoting the movie's 30th anniversary for Lucasfilm and a stamp that's being produced in its honor by the Postal Service. The new stamp will be released March 28. About 400 mailboxes will be covered to look like R2-D2, which is about the same shape. Postal officials are warning people looking for souvenirs that it's a crime to tamper with mailboxes, even those in costume. SO. COOL. What's even COOLER is that Rob and I were in Berkeley yesterday morning and FOUND AN R2D2 MAILBOX. LOOK...
I totally wanted to have my picture taken next to it (I'm a geek, I know) but I had just come from the gym, I was in workout clothes, and my hair was crap so I refrained. Hopefully I'll be better prepared next time. Heh. :D I also found this teaser trailer that USPS/Lucasfilm released to promote the collaboration. I love you, R2-D2. Posted by Kel at 11:07 PM | Comments (2) March 12, 2007 Daylight savings time totally messed me up today. I am UNBELIEVABLY tired. Also, is it just me or has 24 been slightly boring this season? It's really disappointing. :( Posted by Kel at 10:21 PM | Comments (3) I found those darn Girl Scouts today. Totally made my weekend. It's going to take all my willpower not to rip open my box of Thin Mints until April 8 (aka Easter... aka the day I can eat chocolate again). :D Posted by Kel at 12:28 AM | Comments (1) March 6, 2007 Why have I not seen the Girl Scouts around? Isn't it GIRL SCOUT COOKIE TIME?!? They're usually at the BART station attacking all the commuters during rush hour. Don't they know I need my Thin Mints and Samoas? Technically I can't eat either of those cookies right now because I gave up chocolate and candy for Lent. But I want to have them ready when Easter rolls around in a month. :D Sooo I just realized that I never finished up that photo meme I started, oh, about 3 months ago. !!! OOPS. Here's the last part! Click on the pictures to see larger versions. My Kitchen requested by Kelly ![]() My kitchen is pretty tiny and not too exciting. It has all the basics... fridge, oven, stove, microwave. Nothing out of the ordinary, really. The side I took the picture from has the sink and more counter space where we have a bunch of appliances crammed together, like the coffeemaker, rice cooker, and crockpot. I'm not sure why I didn't take a picture of that side of the kitchen. It might have been messy and I was too lazy to clean. :P When I finally buy my own place, I would LOVE to have stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. Not that I spend a lot of time in the kitchen... but a girl can dream. Something Cool I See on My Commute requested by Reen ![]() I honestly couldn't think of anything "cool" that I see on my commute every day. It's totally boring... I get to the BART station (which is in Oakland and there is absolutely nothing cool to see there), sit/stand on the train for 20 minutes until I arrive in San Francisco (I even fall asleep sometimes, hehe), climb up the stairs to street level and walk right into my building. So I decided to take a picture of the Starbucks I visit almost every day for my morning pick-me-up. It's right across the street from my building and it is the *tiniest* Starbucks that I have ever seen. The employees have to kneel under the counter to get in and out of the store. Crazy! I kinda think this photo is a bit of a cop-out, though, so I'll keep my eyes peeled for something fun on my commute that I may have missed. TV Room requested by Kate ![]() Ahhh, the TV room/living room. Probably the one place in my apartment where I spend the most time. Right now, we have this really awful navy blue IKEA couch. I think it fits 1.5 people comfortably and 2 people uncomfortably, lol. We actually started shopping this past weekend for a new couch. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we find one that's soft and inviting but within our budget. Anyway, you'll notice that I have a TON of little stuffed toys on top of the couch. :D I love them. I can't help it. Plus, most of them were presents so I can't put them in storage! Rob gave me the bear in the Lakers basketball jersey for Valentine's Day 3 years ago so it means a lot to me. Computer requested by Kate
My computer is a 4-year old Dell laptop that has served me very, very well. It's pretty much running as well as it did when I first bought it. The only thing that's wrong is that it sometimes doesn't recognize music CDs. I have no idea why. All my DVDs play so I'm not sure what's wrong with the drive. I'd love to upgrade to a newer, faster laptop but not so much that I can justify spending the money right now. I also took a picture of my desk area so you can see all the random stuff I have around me when I'm on the 'net... a candle, my iPod Nano, Mini Cooper figurine, photos (even one of the dog I had growing up!), college graduation tassel, etc. Looking at the photo made me realize my desk is kinda messy. :/ So that's it! Finally. :D Posted by Kel at 11:14 PM | Comments (3) March 4, 2007 I recently discovered Robin Thicke and OMG. I AM IN LOVE. His voice is completely swoon-worthy. Really. Mmmm. (It also doesn't hurt that he's absolutely gorgeous :D). I uploaded 3 of my favorite songs for you guys here -- Right click, save as...
Saw Zodiac last night. I think it was the first movie I saw in the theatre this year. It was a *little* slow but I ended up really, really liking it. Even though it GAVE ME CHILLS. It's not a "horror" movie but the whole real-life aspect totally played with my head. Just knowing the Zodiac killings took place in the Bay Area... EEEEKKKK. Anyway, I didn't realize that the cast included so many "names" -- Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Edwards, Dermot Mulroney, Chloe Sevigny, Clea Duvall, Brian Cox, Donal Logue, Tom Verica... Rob and I kept turning to each other when we recognized someone, lol. I was particularly impressed by the performances of Robert Downey, Jr. and Jake Gyllenhaal, though. They were amazing. I'm glad I got the chance to see them at their best. All in all, a good movie, though it's one I probably wouldn't watch again (it'll definitely stay with me, I think).
